Claim up to 43.5% Back on Eligible R&D Spend
If you are building something genuinely new, we help you claim the R&D Tax Incentive you are owed and keep all of it. We work out what qualifies, register your activities with AusIndustry, track the spend and lodge the claim end to end, on a fixed fee with no commission on your refund.
Three things founders ask us before they lodge a single thing
You are building something genuinely new and you suspect the work qualifies. But the incentive sits between you and the ATO, the rules are written for lawyers, and getting it wrong is expensive. These are the worries we hear most often, with the plain answers we would give you across the table.
Does what we actually built even count?
You wrote code, ran trials, hit dead ends and started over, but nobody has told you which parts the law treats as R&D. We sit with your team, separate the genuine experimental work from the routine build, and tell you honestly what qualifies before you commit a dollar to claiming it.
What happens if it gets reviewed in two years?
The refund lands now, a review can come much later, and that gap is what unsettles most founders. We frame the claim to the legislative test from the start and build the hypothesis and evidence trail as the work happens, so if a question ever comes, the answer is already on file and we are the ones who respond to it.
Why should part of my refund go to a consultant?
This cash is the whole point of the incentive, and handing 15 to 25% of it to a commission is hard to justify when runway is tight. We work on a fixed fee agreed before we start, so the entire refund stays in your company to fund the next stage of the work, not someone else's success fee.
Software, biotech, engineering, manufacturing, agtech, cleantech, foodtech: the field changes, the worries do not, and neither does the straight answer we give you.
End-To-End R&D Claim. Done Properly
Eligibility, documentation, registration, schedule and defence if AusIndustry asks questions later. One firm, fixed fee.
- Initial eligibility assessment against the four-part test
- Activity descriptions: core and supporting activities
- Hypothesis, observation, evaluation documentation pack
- R&D expenditure: salaries, contractors, overhead apportionment
- AusIndustry registration (annual, due within 10 months of year end)
- R&D tax schedule attached to company tax return
- Refundable vs non-refundable offset modelling
- Review-defence support if AusIndustry or ATO ask questions
When the ATO has questions, we are the ones who answer them
We claim what is real and defend it
An inflated claim is a liability with your name on it. We frame only genuinely eligible work against the legislative test and build the evidence as we go, so if AusIndustry reviews it years later, the position holds and we stand behind it for you.
Every dollar of the refund stays yours
This incentive exists to fund your next stage, not a consultant's success fee. We agree a fixed fee before we start and never take a percentage, so the full refund lands in your company where it belongs.
One firm for the claim and the return
Most R&D specialists hand you a schedule and disappear. We are IPA and TPB registered, so the eligibility, the R&D schedule and your company tax return are handled together by people who know your whole position.

What Founders Ask About the R&D Tax Incentive
How much can I claim back?
Companies with under $20M turnover get a 43.5% refundable tax offset on eligible R&D spend. Larger companies get a non-refundable offset up to 16.5% above the corporate tax rate. The amount depends on your eligible expenditure.
Is software development eligible?
Often yes, but only the experimental portion. Routine coding, configuration and integration are not eligible. Building a novel algorithm, training a custom model, designing new system architecture under uncertainty usually qualifies. We will assess yours honestly.
What is the deadline to register?
AusIndustry registration must be lodged within 10 months of the end of your company's income year. For a 30 June year-end, that is 30 April. Miss it and the claim is gone for that year.
What documentation do I need to keep?
Hypothesis statements, experimental design, observation records, results and conclusions. Plus timesheets, payroll, contractor invoices for expenditure proof. We provide templates and review yours quarterly so you do not scramble at year-end.
What happens if AusIndustry reviews the claim?
If a review happens we represent you, supply the supporting documentation we already built, and defend the position. Included in the engagement.
